The role – what is it we would like you to do?
Currie & Brown is looking for a CSA Estimator to join our Central Estimating team. The successful candidate will support project leaders by providing construction expertise of our core services, including estimation, procurement, cost planning and more. These functions should be performed while generating a high standard of service, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing, and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

Your core duties will involve:
- Candidate will be self-managing and require minimum supervision
- Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- 2-5 years’ experience estimating large complex construction projects
- Strong experience with CSA (civil, structural, architectural) estimating, and construction management
- Knowledge of all aspects of cost management and technical knowledge in specific areas
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate across all levels of seniority
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Projects, and various estimating computer software
- Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and team player
What skills and attributes are we looking for from you
- Responsible for the estimating and cost management function for assigned projects, including benchmarking, cost control, and cost reporting
- Support procurement, value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle cost studies
- Multi-disciplinary estimation of all building elements, including civil, structural, architectural, and related building services
- Responsible for maintaining the accurate current project cost status on a weekly basis
- Attend change order meetings and assist project manager in validating and pricing the changes across multiple trade specialties
- Participate in the review of estimates for completeness and accuracy
- Strong professional interpersonal skills and appreciation of challenges involved with working within a client’s office environment
- Common corporate Microsoft tools, will learn client’s preferred cost management software on the job
- Good time management and organization skills – the ability to plan work and prioritize demands
- Relevant duties as assigned by management
