About The Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the cost and financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The role will involve working closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
  2. Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  3. Procurement: Procure materials and services required for construction projects, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices, and manage contracts effectively.
  4. Valuation: Assess progress on construction sites, measure quantities of completed work, and prepare interim valuations for payments to contractors.
  5. Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, review contract terms and conditions, and resolve any disputes that may arise.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle and develop strategies to mitigate risks and maximize project profitability.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and other relevant documentation in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years' experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
