About The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a part of a growing team, contribute to the provision of quantity surveying services to Currie & Brown’s clients and assisting senior staff members.

Client

Support the associate director to establish the project brief

•Establish project deliverables, which are proactive, timely and qualitative

•Provide added value services with solution driven service

•Lead and contribute to, as appropriate, the commercial interests and aspirations of the Company and your business unit.

•Promote the Currie & Brown values of Clients, People, Excellence and Sustainability, at all times

•Strive to provide the best cost consultancy services to clients

•Attend client meetings, site visits and advisory services


People

•Coach and challenge junior/graduate team members utilising clear objectives and responsibilities

•Be an expert in your industry and share your knowledge with others

•Actively participate in Currie & Brown internal forums, training, and social events


Service Delivery

•Assessing design, preparing Bill of Quantities, cost plans and budget estimates.

•Estimating costs, analysing risks, and controlling costs.

•Responsible for tendering and procurement management and contract administration.

•Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and undertaking tender analysis

•Other duties and responsibilities as defined in the methods and procedures contained in Currie & Brown’s Quality Management System

•Undertake project feasibility assessments Support leaders to confront issues openly and quickly through tactful communication

•Raise your visibility through involvement in local industry organisations

•Ensures compliance with QSE manual


Finance

•Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization across projects and be responsible for project profitability.

•Preparation of monthly valuations and financial statements

•Assist leaders in the preparation and negotiation of final accounts

•Involvement in Post Contract control, Tax Depreciation and Bank reporting


Qualifications:

Educated to degree level in a construction related discipline or educated to higher diploma or associate degree level with previous experience

•Actively engages with the team to learn as much as possible from colleagues

•Possess a sound general understanding of the entire build cycle

•CostX experience and knowledge of BIM

•Participates in Currie & Brown’s Mentoring Program

•Excellent interpersonal and client facing skills

•Well-developed IT skills and high levels of numeracy and literacy

•Strong written and verbal communication skills

•Maintain a professional attitude to work, business and appearance
