Currie & Brown is currently looking for a cost manager to support construction projects in San Francisco. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
Responsible for performing cost reporting, cost engineering, and provide project controls guidance on important projects including capital planning support, project costing, and data modelling. Specific job duties for this position include the following: Work as a Cost Engineer Subject Matter Expert with all tools/systems of the Project Controls department as required; Support project teams and project managers by providing project controls, cost control and forecasting (including cash flow forecasting), accounting, reporting, status analysis and other related services across multiple projects, including project cost/scope proposal and contract reviews, review/approval of invoices, and change orders; Provide ad-hoc support and guidance to project teams and project Managers in estimating, planning/scheduling, and progress measurement; Support continuous improvement of all Project Controls processes, standards, systems/tools, and reporting under the lead of the Principal Project Control Engineer; Perform contract administration duties in relation to the execution and retention of project change notices (PCN); Review and validate contractual compliance of project invoices; Assist in bi-annual accrual process; Assist and support project manager in financial project close-out; Create ad-hoc cost reports; Perform cost analysis exercises; and Perform monthly meetings with project managers to update the cost and project schedule.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Construction Management, Built Management, Industrial Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or rltd field of study, and five (5) years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Construction Management, Built Management, Industrial Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or rltd field of study, and three (3) years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Work Experience must have included: Two (2) years of experience working on capital projects; Experience with cost management, scheduling, project planning and estimation; and Knowledge of cost manage systems, tableau, excel, and scheduling software. Short term and extended travel to client worksites is require. This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position that requires the employee to work in our San Francisco, CA office or at the client worksite 3-days a week.

Wage rate: $133,723.00 per year
