Quantity Surveyor

Overview:
Currie & Brown is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our cost management team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a wide range of projects by providing accurate cost planning, procurement advice, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies for various project stages.

• Assist with procurement processes, including tender documentation, evaluation, and contract award.

• Produce bills of quantities (BOQs) and review contractor submissions.

• Monitor project budgets and perform cost control and reporting.

• Conduct valuations, assess variations, and prepare interim and final accounts.

• Support contract administration and risk management processes.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure cost and commercial objectives are met.

• Provide input on value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

• 3–6 years of experience in a consultancy or contractor environment.

• Familiarity with standard forms of contract such as FIDIC, JCT, or NEC.

• Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.

• Experience in sectors such as data centres, healthcare, or infrastructure is an advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools.

• Working towards MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
