About The Role

Currie & Brown has a fantastic opportunity to join our London based multi-disciplinary specialist advisory consultancy team (Risk Management, Sustainability, Net Zero Carbon, Life Cycle Assessments (Carbon and Cost)) to deliver scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls. 

 
Key responsibilities: 
  • Carry out consultancy assignments that have a real-world impact in a wide range of sectors in various industries
  • Provide bespoke advice to clients - from analysing data and working with quantitative models to facilitation of workshops and carrying out feasibility studies
  • Be responsible for the quality and commercial delivery aspects of your work and develop your skills and share knowledge within the whole consulting practice
  • Work with colleagues on project or programme management commissions
  • Produce high quality technical outputs to clients including clear reports, presentations and supporting data models
  • Carry out detailed research and analysis of data to support client requirements and advancing team knowledge
  • Support with gaining buy-in from project teams through stakeholder engagement and client meetings
  • Assist with identifying and contributing to business development opportunities, proposals, and bid development, and compiling case study information for completed projects
  • Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
  • Develop a specialty in a field of your choice across Risk Management or Sustainability
  • Contribute alongside all team members to the efficient running of regular team meetings and activities

Essential experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a team and taking ownership of tasks
  • Proficient in MS Office software with strong general IT skills
  • Interest in the built environment
Ideally you have experience and an awareness of risk and value management processes and techniques.  Experience in managing deliverables, including planning, prioritisation and time management and knowledge of life cycle assessments. 
 

Soft skills required:

  • Passionate about developing a career in consulting
  • Good technical writing with presentation skills
  • Personable and patient individual with good client and colleague facing communication skills
  • Highly numerate, with confidence in handling numbers in the preparation of reports and economic appraisals.
  • Able to analyse information quickly and efficiently, making decisions using an appropriate mix of analysis and judgement
  • Proactive attitude, keen to learn with a developing interest in construction, sustainability, net zero carbon, facilitation, and risk management
  • Ability to build a good understanding of processes, best practice, policies, initiatives and innovations which impact on the built environment
  • Can apply a structured approach to problem solving with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to identify, interpret and follow written guidance, especially that produced by the Public Sector
  • Team members need to be energetic and dynamic, capable of delivering to plan but also able to react flexibly to changing circumstances
  • Be comfortable in working in teams and networking as well as working on your own initiative
  • Ability to develop plans and track progress
  • Ability to work to deadlines, delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Able to build lasting relationships and influence the attitudes and opinions of others
  • Be a cooperative team member who shares knowledge and skills, applies industry best practice to all commissions and learns from mistake. 

You will have the abilty to introduce innovative approaches that can be used to improve performance, reduce costs, increase quality and improve business processes, and provide clear rationale and supporting data to justify solutions.
