  • About The Role

  • The Senior Electrical Construction Manager, is primarily responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the electrical systems and elements for our client’s construction project from the planning stages through to the final stages of construction. This position is in charge of managing and allocating project resources, personnel and budget, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and achieving a successful outcome for our client with regards to their project’s electrical construction needs. 
     

    Specific job duties for this professional position include the following:

    • Managing all aspects of Electrical elements from pre-construction through closeout of projects
    • Reviewing trade contracts and bid packages as well as overseeing procurement process of Electrical Construction trades and associated scope of work
    • Overseeing performance of Electrical GC contractor/sub-contractor including trade status, schedule accuracy and tracking, cost-control and change management
    • Reporting and tracking the complete project to key stakeholders
    • Attending and directing discipline meetings including pre-award, pre-construction and construction progress meetings
    • Managing and coordinating all staff and resources to ensure project success
    • Supporting and assisting safety site representative, as required
    • Assisting with pre-construction efforts as required
    • Setting up QA/QC procedures and conducting quality assurance inspections to ensure GCs managed QC program is implemented and followed accordingly
    • Negotiating Guaranteed Maximum Price contracts
    • Reviewing and providing comments on all monthly contractor pay applications provided by site cost managers
    • Maintaining relationships with internal partners, designers and consultants and respective GCs
    • Monitoring ongoing construction activities and providing input into potential risk mitigation plans
    • Attending site-specific meetings as required, or off-site meetings as requested.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree of foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a directly related field
    • 10 (Ten) years of experience in related positions
    • Experience managing multiple projects with contract values of $500 million and up
    • Experience with project management, estimating, preconstruction services and construction management
    • Knowledge of Clean rooms, batteries, energy, power & substation and complex site construction
    • Knowledge of Green Building projects
