We are currently looking for an Associate Director for our Quantity Surveying business based in Singapore to join the team and lead from the front on existing projects and winning key new work across the region. Your role will include but will not be limited to the following: 
  • Possess a base knowledge of each of your client’s business, organisation, expectations and objectives
  • Understand the client project needs, ensure that there is a client brief
  • Manage day-to-day client interaction and expectations for multiple or large scale projects
  • Continually seek and capitalise upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster strong client ties
  • Raise Currie & Brown visibility through involvement in local industry organisations
  • Management and Leadership of allocated resources
  • Leadership of your project teams as required
  • Appoint, lead, organise and control the works of other consultants and contractors as required
  • Build expert knowledge in our industry and convey knowledge to others
  • Actively participate in Currie & Brown internal forums, training & social events
  • Be able to work in a team environment and develop good team working relationships
  • Contribute to team effort as well as individual tasks
  • Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm
  • Have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Actively seek and utilise feedback to improve personal performance
  • Prepared to be flexible where possible in role & team contribution
  • Work autonomously as a Cost Manager to independently manage all aspects of projects from concept to completion
  •  Management of internal & external  stakeholders, consultants and contractors
    • A good understanding of contracts, a commercial approach to letting tenders and an ability to negotiate with contractors and suppliers
    • Prepare project programmes & monitor projects in line with those programmes
    • Take initiative in problem solving
    • Serve as a key participant in team and client meetings
    • Prepare detailed programs for project implementation
    • Ensure compliance with QA system with regular project audits
  • Assist with budget setting for Business Unit
  • Manage quarterly reviews of income and costs against budget
  • Manage project profitability and resourcing of assigned projects
  • Ensure fee agreements and contract are in place for all assignments
  • Manage debtor and WIP levels for assigned projects
  • Negotiate and obtain client approvals for fee variations for changes in scope
  • Be aware of the Currie & Brown business objectives & services and help to promote where possible

Personal Specification

  • An ability to use computers as an aid to cost management, particularly using MS Word, Excel and MS Project
  • Educated to at least degree level in a relevant discipline such as: M&E/Civil Engineering, Architecture or Project Management
  • Passionate about Project and Cost Management, with the ability to demonstrate a desire to work within a leading property consultancy
  • Understanding of current industry trends and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Confident, energetic and an ambitious self-starter
  • Good network of Clients which can be introduced to Currie & Brown.
