  • About The Role

  • In this role, you will be responsible for providing construction cost management and advisory services to clients across the US and internationally for construction projects ranging from $1m to $100m+. Reviewing all drawings and specifications and provide recommendations to the project team. Reviewing contractor bids and provide a recommendation to the project management team. Peer review contractor construction estimates, lead a review workshop and provide a recommendation to the project management team. Providing procurement support for all direct construction trade packages including reviewing the scope of work documents and providing comments and opinion on the contractor recommendations. Conducting appraisal of the contractor’s GMP proposal and all bid leveling documents for transparency and completeness in scope of work, delivering GMP executive summary to the project management team.

    Specific job duties include

    • Providing initial project estimates, provide updates on project status reports, review and negotiation all project change orders; provide cost change control including reviewing all pricing provided by contractors;
    • Review value engineering proposals during both design and construction phases;
    • Negotiate and agree all final accounts for contractors; subcontractors and suppliers; and verify monthly payment applications submitted for sufficient transparency and accuracy.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a relevant degree
    • Five (5) years of work experience within the industry with similar consultant or construction team.
    • Alternate Acceptable Work Experience Requirement: Eight (8) years of work experience and within the industry with similar consultant or construction team.
    Work Experience Must Include:
    • Experience managing a small team, delegating work, holding 121 meetings and hosting team meetings;
    • Experience with business systems, compliance and procedures relevant to their activities and those of their team;
    • Knowledge of compliance standards with health, safety and environmental management system;
    • Knowledge of finance management and budgeting processes.
    • Travel requirement: as required to meet client and project demands (current +/- 30% of time).
    • Travel to client office/project site and secondment to client office/project site may be required).
