European Finance Manager

About the role
We are looking for a European Finance Manager to join our team in Madrid, reporting to the European Financial Controller. This is a key role supporting our finance operations across multiple European countries, ensuring high-quality reporting, strong financial controls and consistent processes across the region.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders and business leaders, providing clear financial insight to support decision-making and helping to drive continuous improvement across our finance function. Occasional travel across Europe may be required.
What you will be doing
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and financial performance indicators.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and governance procedures.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, banks and regulatory authorities.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of financial matters. You will support business leaders with financial analysis, reporting and commercial insight, while managing, coaching and developing members of the finance team. You will also identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and operational efficiency.
What we are looking for
• A qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, financial controls and governance.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts and financial planning processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP or financial management systems.
Fluent English is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will bring strong analytical capability, attention to detail and the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels, as well as leadership experience and the ability to manage, support and develop a team. Experience of creating and presenting budgets to senior regional managers and the COO would also be highly valued.
